A couple of weeks ago we went up through Fairplay and back around through Breckenridge to look at the aspens. They were beautiful, as always, but I think they would have been better if we would have waited one more week. But we thought they were pretty and the kids had fun hiking around nonetheless.

While Grandma and Grandpa were here the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey circus was in town and the kids had a blast going to the circus. It was late school night for Elle, so she was VERY tired the next day at school, but it is all worth it for the circus, right?

So if you are squeamish I am so sorry that you had to see this, but Ryan was so proud of his first hunt find after three years of hunting that I figured I should probably include it on the blog. My dad and Ryan went hunting down in Colorado Springs a couple of weekends ago and Ryan got an antelpoe the first twenty minutes out. So now we have antelope meat in our freezer and it is actually pretty good.

That same night we had Elle's 5th birthday party with lots of fun, friends, food, and gymnastics. The kids had a BLAST, especially in the "pit". They jumped in over and over and over and over, well you get the point.

What the...?

In true "Haas" fashion. You can tell Elle is related to her dad. She looks pretty dang competitive in these pictures.

Okay, so our next big event was Elle's field day at school. For some crazy reason, they changed field day to the beginning of the year, which I think is crazy. I always was so excited for field day at the end of the year as something fun to do, but obviously they didn't ask for my opinion:)

And we had to take a picture of this on our way from Dallas to Houston because you only see something like this in Texas. In case you can't read the sign on the gas station it says, "Bait Sandwiches"
